A look at the outline makes the supervisor curious. Very good, he thinks, balanced, well thought out. Although he only wanted to look in for a short time, he scrolls on and starts to read… The clock shows shortly before 10. At 10 his consultation hour is. Some young people are already standing in front of the door… Just quickly read the Introduction… A soft knock frightens him. The clock is already pointing far after 10. He calls in. Carefully a student stretches her head through the door and asks quietly if there is no consultation today. Yes, but, he said, a bit irritated, like someone who is disturbed in the middle of his favourite series…
The writer of this Bachelor thesis must have done quite a bit right…That she gets a 1.0 is clear. But how did she do that? Well, she “just” has a great outline… Her thesis was a real story, with a red thread and a finale. No wonder that the caregiver couldn’t let go…
DAS YOU can also!
You don’t have to start from zero. You can work with a pattern classification. It shows you the appropriate outline points chapter by chapter. All chapters build on each other. Just take 10 minutes for it and orientate yourself on it.
If you include these chapter headings in your work, then the red thread is immediately visible and your thesis lands “on the bedside table of the supervisor”.
Chapter 1 of the Outline: The Introduction
Your introduction is like a peritif before dinner. It whets your appetite for the text. Your supervisor gets curious and gets in a good mood. Finally a good job again…
Your first sentence sits and passes the nick test. Almost everyone understands it, can agree with it and nods inwardly. Our patterns and examples in the Thesis Guide will help you and inspire you.
By the way, it is rumored that many caregivers only read Introduction and Conclusion carefully and only leaf through the rest. I can’t really imagine that, because they have to write a detailed report. But the rumor holds itself nevertheless stubbornly.
No matter how! See to it that already your introduction makes the best possible impression. Don’t leave anything burning and stick to our examples, templates and formulations in the Muster-Gliederung. With that you kill 2 birds with one stone: You have a plan for the whole work and already the first pages, namely your introduction.
Chapter 2 of the Outline: Theory
The chapter with the theory is like the cellar of a house. Everything is written on it. You describe all important basics in the theory chapter. What comes into the theory chapter? All important contents for your work. Best stick to the pattern for the Theory chapter in our Thesis Guide.
By the way, you’ll be finished with the theory chapter after ONE week, including reading. Just write with our 5-page-per-day writing technique.
Chapter 3 of the Outline: State of Research
In the chapter State of Research you compile the knowledge about the topic. The sources for the chapter are not books like in theory but scientific studies. You write down what which authors have found out and how. Turn it into a proper chapter and a very good grade is almost certain.
Unfortunately, you hardly had anything to do with such scientific studies during your studies. It doesn’t matter. Just fill out our Table for the study evaluation from the Thesis Guide and follow our Instruction. Then you will get the chapter under control in a few days, even if your reading English is not so outstanding.
Chapter 4 of the outline: The procedure or the methodology
Chapter 4 of the outline: The procedure or methodology
Your supervisor would like to know how you proceeded how you came to your results. That comes in this chapter. You describe your methods and steps. Sounds simple… BUT: What is the name of the method, where you simply read and summarized sources? Does it have a name? It’s certainly not called READING, is it? No, it is not.
There is not only one method for one < a href=”https://blog.aristolo.com/literaturarbeit-als-bachelorarbeit-oder-masterarbeit/”> literature work but several. We have described them in detail in our Thesis Guide. And you will also find examples and formulations. With this you write the chapter down in a few hours. That lifts your spirits.
Chapter 5 of the Outline: The Results
Finally it gets exciting. So far you have only prayed and copied from other sources. Finally you can your own Knowledge. What kind of insights will these be? With what do you want to make the world a better place?
If you have empirical data collected or written in a company , then the answer is clear. But what is the result of a pure literature study? What are the findings? The answer is not that simple. To search for new findings in sources for weeks or even months does not lead to OWN findings. Because logically your results must be straight realizations, which do not stand so yet in the sources… Most old final papers do not help here also, because again are not YOUR realizations.
What will help you immediately is exact instructions for answering your research question and sub-questions, with examples and formulations. Get our Thesis Guide RIGHT TIME. Stick to our examples, instructions, techniques and formulations and your own contribution will work.
Chapter 6 of the Outline: The Conclusion
Finally at the end! Your conclusion will close the circle. Think of the rumor that Caregivers only read introduction and conclusion carefully… So they should fit together very well. Do you want a great conclusion as an example? You can find it in the Thesis Guide.
A great outline of course also requires to write a error-free text ,
More tips for a great outline:
1. do not write more than 6 subchapters in one chapter
Such a chapter is only a string of terms, some of which can be summarized safely.
2. If there is chapter 2.1, then 2.2 is also necessary
2.1 without 2.2 does not work at all. If you write 2.1, you must also write 2.2. The maintainer will immediately see this error and deduct Points. But above all this makes him doubt your seriousness. Because this beginner mistake testifies to carelessness.
3. Do not write more than 6 chapters on 60 pages
There is no fixed rule how many chapters there may be in a bachelor thesis or master thesis. But the more chapters there are per fixed number of pages, the more unbalanced the chapters might be. 5 to 6 chapters on 60 pages are good. For dissertations, there should not be more than 10 chapters on 200 pages. The typical Bachelor or Master Thesis has the 6 chapters described above.
Here are more than 20 of these tips and instructions and examples and templates and videos for the members.
